Sustained Theme: Why do we at times have more genuine interactions with strangers than those we are supposedly close to?
Passersby #2
- Why are public places meant to be accessible to all more welcoming? This piece continues to theme of Passersby #1 portraying public places in a comforting way. The New York 99¢ pizza shop is a place as simple as this pizza shop is a place for everyone. It’s affordable and an iconic location. It represents something people can share and even though it is busy and fast-paced, like the rest of the city, there is a level of organization and patience that allows it to function. Though the food quality might be questionable, the point is that it is accessible to all types of people and everyone knows about it. Everyone that enters the pizza shop is allowed to be provided for and then be on their way.
