Sustained Theme: Why do we at times have more genuine interactions with strangers than those we are supposedly close to?

- Why can we feel lonely in crowds? Is this loneliness ever comforting? Everyone has a separate destination but they share this moment riding in the same car. Sometimes I have a conversation with someone next to me or we laugh at a too-loud drunk passenger or I simply watch the people. I feel like every time I take the train I learn something. I feel a sense of comfort in fulfilling a person's natural desire to be part of a group while being easily forgotten. I control how much I have to engage with those around me to an extent and any negative judgment is easily let go. I used warm blue and orange hues similar to my other pieces and I highlighted the woman's face in the bottom right corner as I had captured her brief expression of wonder in the photo I used as a reference on the Charlotte Blue Line train. The train seems like a calm place where people mind their own business and coexist.
